To be honest…
it’s hard to imagine we’re already a month into our new theater. After over a year’s worth of planning, stress, excitement, stress, building, stress and, well…(you get it ) It feels like we kicked things off and it all happened at once before our new normal just set right in.
And what a treat it has been!
It’s been so nice to see so many familiar faces return to see ComedySportz, enjoy our new facilities, and ring in the latest and greatest theater ComedySportz has seen yet. Not to mention all the new folks who only know ComedySportz at our Good Friend Theater location! I’m honored to continue to carry our banner into the future.
So what’s next?
If you have already had the chance to come out, you’ve had the chance to catch ComedySportz in our new time slot of 7:30pm. We are excited for this change because it will allow us to continue to deliver Houston’s longest running show without any compromise while we also prepare to run a full array of other awesome comedy shows in prime time slots every weekend! We will of course be bringing back some crowd favorites, like “Improv! The Musical”, “Beer Babies”, and “Bard’s Bounty.” We are also thrilled to announce that we plan to double down on our newest hit show “Maestro,” with familiar and new faces in every show in a winner takes all format. For our long time fans and new fans alike, I am personally very stoked to tell you that we are going to be reviving our UNSCRIPTED series with some popular reruns as well as new takes on popular shows. And on top of that, we are going to be having tons of new shows including long form, new musical comedy shows, special guests, and so so so much more!
Past that,
We are busy continuing to build out our second stage where a lot of these exciting new shows will feature. Keep an eye out for announcements this fall that will include a chance to come see the new stage, see new shows, and lots of exciting ways to be a part of the Good Friend Theater.

Truly. Every day in our new building has been better than the last. It has been so fun to see how excited everyone is to see the theater and what we have been working on for so long. I’m determined to use all this momentum to help really take us to the next level as a theater, community, and city as a established place for comedy.
My plan is to try and continue to give updates monthly through our newsletter so thank you for checking in with me and the theater!
